How to Install Operations Manager 2007 R2 on Windows 2008

It is a little tricky path (espacially reporting) to install OpsMgr 2007 wSP1 or OpsMgr 2007 R2 on a Windows 2008 system.
I tried to explain the steps to take before every component installation for a successful OpsMgr installation.

Hi İlkay Aygün,
To install SCOM R2 in Windows Server 2008 you don't need to install anyone hotfix, the hotfixes are only for SCOM 2007 SP1. OK? Good luck and congrats for the blog.

Hi Cleber, thanks for your post. You are right, all the OS hotfixes are for SCOM SP1. As long as msft has not published an article for installing SCOM R2 on Windows 2008, I think it would be appropriate to follow the instructions for SCOM SP1 as there are minor changes in the coding of SCOM.
